This article, initially published in the Cahiers slaves and republished here with a new foreword, is devoted to defining the specificities of Ukrainian art in relation to the arts of Europe and Russia. Can we define common traits in the productions of artists from Ukraine in the early 20th century? And if so, what do they bring to the understanding of this art?
